Welcome to my blog!

It occurs to me that I've only reviewed historical romances so far (and they've all been graded high) so a visitor could be forgiven for thinking that's all I read.

So, when I get my act together I'd better put up more reviews and of other subgenres I read (oh the pressure!).

I am reading Mistress by Mistake by Maggie Robinson at present and it had a wonky start but is picking up so the jury's still out.

I read Compromised by Kate Noble and then Revealed and I pretty much agreed with what AnimeJune said over at Gossamer Obsessions about it. I've got The Summer of You on it's way to me.

I've got the new Meredith Duran on my TBR shelf too, as well as The Secret Duke by Jo Beverley. That's got mixed reviews so far as I can tell but I love the Malloren world and I'm a big Rothgar fan so I'll be happy if he's just IN the book. I'm also a fan of Mary Balogh and Jo Goodman.

I've got the new Nora Roberts - Savour the Moment and the new Rachel Gibson - Nothing But Trouble waiting for me too.

I've recently finished some m/m romance by Heidi Cullinan - Special Delivery and Double Blind. SarahF's recommendations over at Dear Author usually work for me. I just finished the latest Maya Banks - Sweet Temptation and I have to say I was disappointed. I'm not sure if I'll review it - I have to think about whether I've actually got something useful to say. As it happens the reviews I've done here so far have kind of identified an overarching theme and I'm not sure Sweet Temptation gave me any inspiration in that regard. Also, my mum might visit (horrors!) and what would she think if she knows I read some m/m and some f/m/m/m/m (yes, that's right, there were FOUR (count them, 4) guys and ONE (yep, 1) girl featured in a sex (well obviously!) scene in Sweet Temptation. I was walking bowlegged just reading about it. Hmmm. maybe I do have something to say after all. I'll have to give it some thought...

thx again for visiting!Kaetrinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16936055488367251592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480569708975020177.post-14444670692664215142010-05-17T21:33:13.557+09:302010-05-17T21:33:13.557+09:30I'm not sure Kinsale can surpass Shadowheart f...I'm not sure Kinsale can surpass Shadowheart for me. I missed her more dramatic style in this book, although I could see hints of it here and there.

Given that you're a Kinsale fan, I'd love to hear some of your author recs, especially in historical romance!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480569708975020177.post-38020467753529463212010-04-09T08:19:07.101+09:302010-04-09T08:19:07.101+09:30Thx Nicola.

Ms. Kinsale did her job too well in getting me to identify with Callie and when it came to the end, well it was about as funny as shutting a claustrophobic in a tiny cupboard - for years. In other words, for me, not. I would have accepted much better a true villain because I thought it was such a villainous thing to do. This kind of well meaning (?) cruelty made me go 'hur?'
It may (and I only say may!) have been okay if she'd only been jilted once and Trev came back a short time after - but 3 times and 8+ years? No way.Kaetrinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16936055488367251592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480569708975020177.post-15835367315600287962010-04-09T06:58:07.718+09:302010-04-09T06:58:07.718+09:30Well done!

It seems somehow a very British-comedic ending, with everyone chuckling, lifting a glass and saying "all's well that ends well, what ho," and glossing over the interim pain.Nicola O.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13947359287796827837noreply@blogger.com
